Irene Elizabeth Berry, 94, of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away on August 22, 2025. She was born on July 19, 1931, in Rosedale, Mississippi to the late William Hardin McCroy and Irene (Williams) McCroy.
Irene was married to her husband, William Sanford Berry, for 64 years, and they had five children together. They spent their lives together in Missouri and later moved to Arkansas in 2008. She was incredibly proud of her children and often mentioned how they grew to be wonderful adults. Irene was a faithful servant to the Lord; she was proud of the fact that she had read her Bible front-to-back twenty-three times! She and Sanford ministered for many years, serving in Assembly of God churches and traveling to nursing homes to deliver the gospel. Irene had a beautiful singing voice and kept handwritten song books for her personal use, and also shared them with others. She was well-loved by her family and friends.
Irene enjoyed taking care of her yard, many flowers, and garden. She was very interested in medical issues, and was quick to offer her diagnoses and suggest treatments based on her research. Irene loved her family and was very proud of them. She left a great impact on those around her, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by: husband, William Sanford Berry; daughter, Dolly Elaine Berry; parents, William and Irene McCroy; brother, James McCroy; sister, Eva Ann Killian; and a host of extended family members who she loved very much.
