Isaac "Ike" Jackson Tuck

Isaac “Ike” Jackson Tuck, 98, longtime resident of Rogers passed away April 19, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Fayetteville, August 26, 1920 to Charles David and Mary Lucinda Tuck nèe Hutchinson. Ike was also preceded by his loving wife of 35 years, Ruby Garrett; a daughter, Page Hendricks; a son, Marty Tuck; and his four sisters and three brothers. Ike was a joyful, kind, fun-loving and energetic man. He was a loyal friend and a devoted family man. A veteran of the Army Air Corps during WW11, he served as the local Railway Express Agent at the Rogers Depot for many years and later retired from the fur division of Pel-Freez. Ike was a life-long Methodist, a deeply involved member of First United Methodist Church in Rogers, serving as a Sunday School teacher, a Stephen Minister, volunteer, and for 40 years a Lay Speaker in several small, rural Methodist churches, including his beloved New Home Church in Bentonville. An avid outdoorsman, you could find him tending his large garden and fruit trees, bowling, hiking in the hills or quail hunting with his companion birddogs. He always cheered his favorite teams: Razorbacks, Cowboys and Yankees. Ike remained active in retirement as a founding volunteer of the Rogers Recycling Center and as an Election Poll Worker. He was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2006 and the Arkansas Governor’s Volunteer Excellence Award in 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Kinion (Terry) of Tyler, Texas; 2 sons-in-law; 6 grandchildren: Orrin Kinion, Nathan Tuck (Pam), Tony Tuck (Melissa), Melissa Hawkins (John), Cecily Hendricks, Spencer Hendricks; 7 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family members and dear friends. A Memorial Celebration of Life service, officiated by The Rev. Dr. Michael Mattox, will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Rogers with a reception to follow. Private interment will be in Son’s Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville. I don`t recall where we first met, but Mr. Tuck (Ike) was always a gentleman, I`m not surprised by his lifelong accomplishments. He will be missed.
