

Jerry Lee Lawson of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away October 7, 2025. Jerry was born July 22, 1947, to John Floyd and Mary Marvene (Brown) Lawson, and proudly lived his entire life in Northwest Arkansas.
After graduating from Rogers High School, Jerry attended the University of Arkansas where he earned bachelor’s degrees in history and music and played clarinet in the University of Arkansas Band. Jerry continued his studies in graduate school, earning a master’s degree in music. Later, he returned to school and earned a bachelor’s in special education.
Jerry had a long career in music and teaching. He taught history, music, and choir at several junior high and high schools in Northwest Arkansas and served as the music director of Bella Vista Community Church for over a decade. Jerry also played piano, composing several pieces for the bands and choirs that he directed.
Jerry’s creativity also impacted his hobbies. He enjoyed photography and extensive landscaping projects – often tearing up lawns to build waterfalls and ponds. He also enjoyed fishing.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marvene Lawson; and his brother, Bobby Burks Lawson. He is survived by his son, Brad and wife Anne; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Emma, and John, as well as numerous extended family members.
A small graveside service will be held for family at a later date to be determined.
