John Paul Cummings, 56, passed away on August 2, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on December 12, 1963 to the late Melvin and Pauline (Smith) Cummings. He was the husband of 25 years to Jane Ann (Thompson) Cummings.
John was a great and caring man who always put others first.
He was a graduate of NWACC in 1994 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. He worked at Mercy Hospital for over 20 years. He loved being a nurse and would not have traded it for any other profession.
John was a Pittsburg Steelers fan, an amazing cook, and avid history buff. He was always watching different “how to” programs on YouTube. He loved learning and fishing with his sister, or anyone that would go with him. He just enjoyed being out in nature on his boat with family and friends. He was great to be around and always made you laugh.
He was very passionate about his daughter’s talent for the violin and loved listening to her play. He also loved his dogs, Ripley, Peanut and Pugsley very much.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Mullins; and sister, Sherry Mullins.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Ann of Holiday Island; daughter, Rachel Cummings of Bentonville; sisters, Ginger Kinne of Holiday Island and Tammie Hahn of Texas; and lots of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special recognition to all the people that helped them through this time with John.
