Jose L Murillo

Born on November 1, 1961, Jose had a gift for fixing anything—whether it was a leaky faucet, a broken motorcycle, or someone’s day. If he didn’t know how to fix it, he’d figure it out, always patient and determined. Known affectionately as “The Fixer,” Jose approached life’s challenges with resourcefulness and a quiet humor that made every problem seem solvable.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jose served his country with dedication and honor. The discipline and resilience he carried from his service shaped the way he approached life—steady, loyal, and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Jose loved his family above all else. Sundays were sacred—filled with the smell of good food, laughter, and the comforting clatter of tools as he, his daughter, and granddaughter cooked and repaired things at his daughter’s home. His family will forever cherish those gatherings, along with the countless Thanksgivings spent together, surrounded by love and the delicious meals he helped prepare.

He was deeply proud of his daughter, Becky, and was a constant, loving presence in his granddaughter Mikayla’s life. He never missed a dance competition or a graduation, cheering proudly from the audience, his smile lighting up the room.

At work, Jose was respected and admired—recognized not only with awards but with the genuine friendship and appreciation of his colleagues. Outside of work, he found joy in caring for animals, reading Consumer Reports and Carfax, and taking rides on his beloved light green Kawasaki 1200R motorcycle—a symbol of his independence, curiosity, and love of the open road.

Jose is preceded in death by his father and brother. He is survived by his beloved children, Mike and Becky; his mother and five sisters; his cherished granddaughter, Mikayla; and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.

Jose’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the quiet strength of a man who could fix anything—but whose greatest creation was the family and friendships he built.
