December 13, 1962 – May 5, 2019
Karen Suzette Cravens, age 56, was born in Roger's, Ar. On December 13th, 1962 and passed away on Sunday morning May 5th, 2019. She is preceded in death by her father Horace Hawkins. Karen is survived by her three daughters: Joseph and Judy Black of Roger's, Ar.; Denis and Vanessa Sanchez of Bentonville, Ar.; and Jody Cravens of Roger's, Ar.; father of her children Daniel Cravens of Seligman, Mo.; mother Betty Hawkins of Bentonville, Ar.; brothers: Danny Hawkins of Bentonville, Ar.; Gary and Maritta Hawkins of Bentonville, Ar.; sister Sherry Borgmeir of Bentonville, Ar.; and eight grandchildren: Emanuel, Diego, Isabella, Skyler, Angelica, Serenity, Keagan, and Macy. Karen was a hard worker all her life. She worked for Benton County for many years. She was a single mother who was up early before the sun came up and worked well into the evening before she would retire for bed. She was the type of woman who made sure everyone was taken care of before she would rest. Karen worked even harder at being a mother and grandmother. She would of traveled to the ends of the earth to care for her family, and it never mattered how tired she was or what chaotic things were going on in her life. Karen would put everything on hold to be there for her family. She was compassionate, strong, independent, and all together best woman who blessed many lives. Despite trials, heartaches, and all that life brought she always stayed cheerful and was such a joy to be around. Even when it was not alright, and things got bad, she held us all together and kept us strong with smiles on our face. She would always tell us things would get better soon and to keep a smile on our beautiful faces. I know that if she were here today she would say the same to all of us. Karen always wanted her funeral to be a celebration. She knew the next life with our Lord and Savior would be beautiful and magical. She joked she was most excited to dance with Patrick Swayze. Karen will be greatly missed and things certainly will never be the same but, she would want us to smile on all the good times we had together and remember that she is in God's capable hands now and be comforted knowing there is now only peace for her.

Oh my sweet Karen, my best friend, I will surely miss you. What a great friend you are to me. No matter what, you always smiled which was so contagious everyone would be smiling before you knew it. I will forever cherish all the memories, from our school years throughout our lives, from our adult years and us working together, to us becoming mommas and grandmas. Oh how you love your children and grandchildren. They are the apples of your eyes and your whole world. You are one of the sweetest people that I had the privilege to call my friend. I will never forget your laughter and smiles. I will miss you always until we meet again. I love you dear friend. Fly high my beautiful Angel, now you can rest.

I was blessed to call her my Aunt. She had a smile that was contagious that could light up a room! Her family was her world! She was the strongest woman I knew. I know that she left behind so many good memories for all of us to laugh and carry on about! She wouldn’t want this to be a sad time for us but a time to just get together and celebrate her life. She definitely had a life worth celebrating! She was so strong and courageous and a heart of gold! She will be missed but never forgotten!

I had the privilege of working around Karen for a number of years here at the County. We enjoyed each others stories and had some fun laughs over the years. She loved her family and grandchilden so much. It was great to see her face light up when talking of the grandchildren. She will be missed so much. I hope she meets my Mother in Heaven. They will undoubtedly have lots of stories to share with each other. Love and prayers for peace to Karen's family and grandchildren.
