

Larry Alan Buckman, Sr., of Rogers, Arkansas, left his Earthly home and went to his Eternal Home with the Lord Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Larry was born on December 10, 1952 on Island 40, Tennessee to the late Joseph “Popeye” and Edna “Mamaw” (Ramelow) Buckman.
Larry, the youngest of eight children, grew up in the rural areas around West Memphis, Arkansas and Marked Tree, Arkansas and Island 40, Tennessee on the Mississippi River.
On January 25, 1974, Larry married Linda Sue Gibson and they had two children, Deliverance Buckman (1978) and Larry Alan Buckman, Jr. (1980).
He enlisted in the Army in 1974, re-enlisting after his first term, for a total of 8 years of service. He earned the rank of Specialist 5 and was honorably discharged on February 11, 1982.
Larry enjoyed being on the trails or the water and early in life, could be found on the Mississippi River and surrounding rural areas. His love for the water and outdoors lasted throughout his life and when they moved to Arkansas, he spent many hours on rivers and lakes in Northwest Arkansas. He also loved exploring the trails in his Jeep. He was blessed to spend the last 20 years living on Beaver Lake.
Larry was quick to laugh and loved to share his love of Jesus with anyone who would listen.
Larry joined his parents and siblings, Pauly McKay, Sunny Buckman, Jeanne Hice, and Doc Buckman with Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, of almost 50 years, Linda Sue Buckman; 2 children; Deliverance Thurstenson (John) of Siloam Springs, and Larry “Buckshot” Alan Buckman, Jr. of Rogers; brother, Johnny Buckman of Russellville; sisters, Betty Bartlet of New York, and Joan Robinson of Arkansas; 7 grandchildren, Nora, Andrew, Hadassah, Maggie, Mia, Stone, and Lance; and one great-grandson, Miles.
A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held with his close family and loved ones.
