Lois was the fifth child born to Harold and Lorene Cook. She grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where she enjoyed athletics and outdoor activities. She graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1952.
Lois did secretarial work for a variety of establishments. She had an excellent work ethic which she passed on to her children.
On September 11, 1954, Lois married Matt. They were blessed with four children: Sharon, Mark, Sue, and Maria. She lived in San Diego County, California for 66 years, then spent her last year in Springdale, Arkansas, to be closer to family.
Lois found joy in many pastimes, including camping and fishing, bowling, knitting and crocheting, and drawing. She loved to travel, especially to Yellowstone National Park, and she enjoyed playing and watching sports.
A devoted member of the church of Christ, most recently in Santee, California, Lois especially loved teaching children’s Bible class. Known for her affectionate nature, she loved to give and receive hugs—an enduring expression of the love she felt for so many.
Lois is survived by her husband, Matt; her daughters, Sharon, Sue, and Maria; her sons-in-law, James and Bob; and her grandchildren Kyle, Nohemi, Dustin, Ashley, Sharon, Chad, Wyatt, Skylee, Toby, and Rocky. She is also survived by six great-granddaughters and ten great-grandsons, as well as several cousins and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lorene; her sisters, Jean and Fay; her brothers, Kenneth and Ed; her son, Mark; and her son-in-law, Paul.
