Marie was born December 29, 1927, in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma to Arvel and Mae (Johns) Weaver. She moved to Arkansas at the age of 5 in a covered wagon – a fact that she was proud of. Marie married James W. King on December 20th, 1950. This year would have been their 75th anniversary. They had four daughters together.
Marie was preceded in death by her mother and father and daughter, Sherma Lea. She left behind her husband; daughters, Debby King (Mickey Munday) of Pineville, Missouri, Rhonda Freitag of Rogers, Arkansas, and Sandy (Dale) Coffelt of Avoca, Arkansas; granddaughter, Jillian (Buddy) Smith of Rogers, Arkansas; her bonus grandsons, Jacob, Eric, and Cory Coffelt, and their families; and her great-grandchildren, Karrissa and Truman Smith.
Marie enjoyed gardening, canning what she grew, sewing, crocheting, reading, working word puzzles, genealogy, and she loved cats. She loved to talk and would talk to anybody. Her dad always said she never met a stranger. Her passing has left a void in our family that can never be filled.
A visitation for Marie Weaver King will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Rollins Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
