Marvin D. Undernehr

Marvin’s first passion was his wife and daughter. Marvin and Donna meet in Springfield, MO. where he swept her off her feet. They married two years later and soon after “ten years” had a wonderful baby girl named Celina. Celina’s arrival changed their lives forever. Celina is the Apple of her Father‘s Eye. Marvin and Celina became best buddies; laughing, wrestling, playing, doing homework together, and teasing Donna.

Marvin was an avid sports enthusiast, he especially enjoyed playing baseball and golf. At an early age he played for the Little League team in Rogers. He continued playing baseball throughout his life, including for The Northwest Arkansas Men’s Senior Baseball League for many years with a great group of men. In 2011 Marvin was inducted into the MSBL Hall of Fame, holding the record for the most stolen bases. Marvin also loved playing the game of golf with his buddies, especially hitting the long ball. He loved to win in addition to collecting winnings from the other golfers, “The Losers”.

Finally retirement was here for Marvin. Part of the joy of retirement was meeting his brothers Tom, George and others for breakfast. There they would solve the world’s problems.

Even in retirement, Marvin kept busy. If you happened by the house you might find Marvin in the creek on one of his big boy toys, The Loader, pulling rock out of the creek.

Marvin was a very funny, witty, and an intelligent person. His favorite one-liners were; “Have a super sparkly day”, “I woke up thinking today”, and “Drive like you have a large family”.

He is survived by his wife Donna Lee Undernehr; daughter Celina Lee Undernehr both of Rogers; brothers George Undernehr of Bentonville, Tom Undernehr and Ray Undernehr of Rogers; sisters Hilda (Undernehr) Upton of Rogers and Kathy Undernehr of Bentonville and many nieces and nephews and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Jim and Ralph Undernehr.
