She was born December 1, 1916, to parents Wesley and Mary (Sandusky) Crawford.
Opal was a Christian. She was also a hard worker, and throughout her life was employed at the Co-Op, Bare Brand Hosiery, CTS Factory, First Brand, and Barney’s Store in Cave Springs. Opal also enjoyed sewing and gardening, and caring for others.
She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Olan Ford and Frank Hawkins; a son, Doyal Ford; and her siblings.
Opal leaves behind to cherish her memory two sisters-in-law, Christine Crawford and Mae Crawford; her dear friends, Barbara and Lonnie Horn, and Debra, Jerry and Kristina Solomon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Rollins Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Cave Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Rollins Funeral Home.
