Dickie worked for the Houston Fire Department in Houston, Texas, and retired from there in 1983, after which he moved with his family to Little Flock. He was Little Flock’s Mayor for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marsha (Whiteley) Schoettle; son, John Douglas Schoettle of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter, Sheri Lynn O’Hearn and husband Joel of Rogers; siblings, Jack Schoettle and Carolyn Hardin of Texas; and grandsons, David Douglas O’Hearn and Michael Evan O’Hearn.
Visitation will be Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home, with Graveside services following at 2:30 p.m. at Benton County Memorial Park. Jackie Chesnutt will officiate.
