

Von D. Hood, age 69, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, December 10th in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born December 30, 1941 in Bentonville to Von E. and Leota Perkins Hood. Von was a member of the 1959 Bentonville High School graduating class and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1982. Von began his career with TRW Wendt Sonis in 1964 pouring concrete for a plant expansion. He was then hired as the night shift operator and rose through the ranks as leadman, foreman and plant manager. He played the lead role in the company’s entering the oilfield industry. When the company sold in 1986 and became Rogers Tool Works, Von became Vice-President of Manufacturing. He retired after 33 years.
Von is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Hood of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, his mother, Leota Hood of Bentonville, Arkansas, 5 brothers, Charlie Hood and his wife Charlotte of Bethel Heights, Arkansas, Ivan Hood and his wife Helen of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Norman Hood and his wife Suzy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Forrest Hood of Bentonville, Arkansas, David Hood and his wife Sharon of Farmington, Arkansas, 3 sisters, Darlene Hinton and her husband Ladson of Seattle, Washington, Mary Drevdahl of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Gaye Stein of Rogers, Arkansas and 21 Nieces and Nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17th from 12:00 until 2:00 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rolling Hills Baptist Church, 1400 Rolling Hills Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72703 or to the Eureka Springs Volunteer Fire Department, 144 E. Van Buren Street, Eureka Springs, AR 72632 or to the Charity of Choice. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Arkansas.
