worked with les at conssumers in ft.scott, we opened march23,1983. wehad debra sue maffett,miss america at the grand opening. I'm sorry i don't have a cute anecdote about Les and miss america, but i was the head of the pharmacy, and we all had our picture taken with her.there was larry denton,connie shoemaker and myself.  as usual i was doing my ocd organizational duties(les was a big ocd also). It' like insanity,inherited-most of the time you get it from your kids.les was big on sitting on a pallet in the back and sulking> i wish i didn't know now,what I didnt know then or I would have told Les:there are only 2 kinds of people who don't make mistakes: dead people and people who don't do anything! les was always an overachiever. Anyway,I was telling miss america where to sit & she told me.I'm miss america. & nobody tells me where 2 sit! I realize now she was trying to flirt with me. oh,the things we know,but usually too late. I was happily married. you notice i said was. We are still together after44 years of battle.

To Linda and all of the Shufelt Family, Sharon and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you with the loss of Les.  He was a good friend and colleague and we enjoyed the times we visited together at your home.  Les called me a year ago as I ran into a mutual friend and he passed my contact info to les.  We did not get to visit, and he promised to call again.  Time slips by faster now as we get older.  Best to you Linda, and if you are in town, let us know so we might say hello. Linda and Chrissi, I am so sorry for your loss.  Praying for you and your family to be comforted during this time.  Even during his own trials, he was always keeping an eye out for those who needed help and tried to.  I laughed every time he came up to the office and offered his advice on how to straighten up my messy desk.  He always had ideas.  Safe travels to Kansas and back to you and all your family.

It is so clear to see that Les loved his Family as he did his work Family. The pictures here show a very caring and sharing man. That was Les. He always had to make sure everything was alright for all. Now things are perfect for Les as he is in a much better place. I will miss my friend Les very much.

Linda and family, Jack and I were both very sad to hear of Les's passing.  We both thought so much of both of you and Jack has taken it pretty hard.  Please know that you are all in our prayers.
