Mrs. Ann Fox Baskin (Ann) passed away March 29th, 2023 at Seven Hills Place, Rome, Georgia. She was born December 16th, 1933 in Carbon Hill, Alabama to the late O.M. and Bernice Fox. She had one brother, Marvin Fox.
Ann held a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard College, now Samford University; a Master of Religious Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Education from Berry College. She taught Second Grade and Kindergarten at Riverside, Pepperell, and Garden Lakes Elementary, as well as Kindergarten at First Baptist Church Rome. Ann was always active in children’s work at First Baptist.
Ann was married to Joe R. Baskin for 67 years and they had two children, Robyn and Chris. She accompanied her husband to Malaysia in 1988 where they served as missionaries for ten years with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Ann enjoyed growing roses, teaching, reading, poetry, music, and being with family. She was invested in the lives of many young women through mentoring and teaching. She was much loved by many, especially her husband Joe, and her children: Robyn Miller, Greenville, South Carolina, and Chris Baskin, Portland, Oregon. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren all of whom cherish “MomAnn’s” presence of joyful patience and steadfast love.
Ann requested that in lieu of flowers she would prefer an offering to Global Missions.

A memorial service at First Baptist Church for Ann will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10:30 AM. A graveside inurnment - Floyd Memory Gardens will occur Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
