

Mr. Launier was born in Gardner, Mass., July 29, 1947, son of the late, Arthur Jules Launier and Annonciade Marie Launier. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bob Launier. He earned his degree from MIT in Computer Sciences. He was a Sgt. in USAF with a background in the Nuclear Weapons Special Systems. Mr. Launier also served our country for four years abroad during the Vietnam War. Mr. Launier and his wife attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Rome. Survivors include his wife; Virginia Tucker Launier, to whom he was married to for 39 years, two daughters; Regina G. Launier of Rome, Linda-Kay L. McLaughlin of Rome and two grandson’s; Cole C. Proffitt of Rome, and Samuel A. McLaughlin of Rome. His siblings are as follows Alfred Launier of FL., Theresa L. Carline of Mass., Florence L. Glidden of N.H., Raymond Launier of CA, Leo Launier of N.C., Joe Launier of FL., and Norman Launier of Mass. Activities and Hobbies: Golf, hunting, clay shooting, motorcycle riding, stamp collecting, horseback riding, reading, archery and travel.
Funeral services and Biblical Wake for Mr. Launier were held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 7:00 PM at Daniel's Funeral Home with Deacon Stu Neslin officiating. The family received friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday prior to the service. Burial were held Friday, February 6th, at noon at the GA National Cemetery in Canton. Military rites were provided the by the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 American Legion Honor Guard.
Pallbearers for Mr. Launier: Cameron McLaughlin, William Swinford, Mark Bulle, Roland Augustine, David Fleming and Michael Moseley.
Flowers were accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Daniel’s Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
