
Mr. Floyd was born on October 12, 1928 in Columbus, GA and was the son of the late Cecil Floyd, Sr., and Lucile Knight Floyd.
Mr. Floyd graduated from Auburn University. He moved to Rome and had the distributorship for Tom’s Peanut Company for over 25 years. His family meant everything to him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Blake Floyd; one child, Dr. John Cecil Floyd, and one brother, John Ashby Floyd.
Survivors include his wife, Ladre King Combee Floyd of Rome; daughter, Susan Floyd Murphy of Canton, GA; six grandchildren, Carolyn Murphy Twining and her husband Micheal of Middleburg, FL, Kathryn Murphy Breedlove and her husband Christopher of Locust Grove, GA, Andrew Blake Floyd of New Roads, LA, Benjamin Max Floyd, Seth John Floyd and Hope Gingles Floyd, all of Houma, LA, and one great- grandchild, Turner Barrington Breedlove of Locust Grove, GA.
A graveside service for Mr. Floyd will be held Friday March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Janice Bracken Wright officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening March 13, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 101 East 4th Avenue, Rome, GA. 30161.
