Christine G. Russell

A native of Rome, Mrs. Russell was born December 27, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Lee Clifton Garrett and Gracie Carter Garrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Mr. Frank LaFayette Garrett; btothers Carter Garrett and his wife Vassie of Rome, Sanford Garrett of Pacifica, CA, Sidney Roger (Danny) Garrett of Rome; sisters, Royce Garrett Hufstetler of Rome, Juanita Garrett Nolan of Rome, Marguerite Garrett Farr and her husband Paul of Rome; and sister-in-law Eugenia (Pete) Garrett of Fayetteville, GA.

Mrs. Russell was a graduate of Rome High School and together with her husband, Frank, owned and operated Russell Picture House on Shorter Avenue for many years, and was a member of the Floyd County Homemakers Council. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, sewing and cooking.

Mrs. Russell is survived by her brother, Robert Lee Garrett of Fayetteville, GA; a sister-in-law, Doris Garrett of Rome and a brother-in-law, J. D. Nolan of Rome. "Grandchildren" include Patrice Nolan White of Marietta, Jeff Nolan of Rome, Susan Garrett Magnicheri of Calhoun and Patti Garrett Bowling of Rome along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family received friends Friday, February 6, 2015 from 11:00 am to 12:15PM at Daniel's Funeral Home in Rome. A chapel committal service was held at Daniel's at 12:30 pm with the Reverend Horace Stewart officiating. Interment followed at East View Cemetery.
