

Mrs. Conway was born in Rome, GA. December 22, 1924, daughter of the late Henry P. Simmons and Mattie Bell Lovell Simmons. As a young girl she attended Glenwood Elementary, then graduating from Armuchee High in 1940. She later attended the Carroll Lynn Business College in Rome. While attending school she worked at the Height Company, then for Celanease for a period of time before working at South Eastern Mills, and was a special education teacher’s aide for the Rome City School System. She was a member of West Rome Baptist Church for over 60 years and attended the Joy Sunday School Class. Mrs. Conway was a natural born care giver. She always loved helping other people. She was thoughtful, giving, considerate and very sentimental. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Conway on April 15, 2011 and one sister Evelyn Cockrill.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Glenn Conway and his wife Leana, Woodstock; one daughter Karen Morgan and her husband Mark of Columbia, MO; one sister, Lillian Payne of Sandy Springs; four grandchildren Kristen and Katie Conway and Meredith and Jonathan Morgan.
Services for Mrs. Conway will be held Friday December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home with Rev. Jarrod Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening December 13 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home.
