
Mrs. Dolice Jean Minge age 80 of Price Road, Rome passed away Sunday October 3, 2010 following a courageous battle with numerous illnesses.
Mrs. Minge was born August 23, 1930 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Edward Wesley Atkins and Addie Quick Atkins. Mrs. Minge along with her husband co-owned and operated B&S Construction Company. Mrs. Minge was a member of North Broad Baptist Church for over 60 years, member of the Ruth Sunday School Class and a member of the Sherwood Forest Garden Club.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Minge was preceded in death by her sister Jenett Atkins Poole.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert D. “Bobby” Minge, one son and daughter-in-law, Scott Minge and wife Angie, Rome; two daughters, Teresa Minge, Atlanta and Gwendolyn Touchstone, Dallas, GA; three grandchildren, Zachary, Robert, Briana, and god son, Neeley, one brother, Charles Atkins, Rome; two sisters, Elizabeth Dow, Santa Barbara, CA and Barbara Smith, Woodstock, GA a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 AM in the North Broad Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Brooks and Rev. Katrina Brooks officiating, a private interment service will follow.
Mrs. Minge will lie in state at North Broad Baptist Church where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 AM until the funeral hour, at other hours the family may be contacted at the residence.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to her beloved North Broad Baptist Church, 1309 North Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at North Broad Baptist Church Wednesday at 10:45 AM and include: grandsons, Zachary and Robert, god son Neeley, Command Sgt. Mjr. Joe Hill, Haskell Perry and Allen Pinson. The Ruth Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
