Elizabeth N White

Dr. Elizabeth N. White, Zibby, age 92 of Rome, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She was born on September 11, 1931 in Buffalo, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Courtney Norris and Gladys Carder Norris.

Dr. Zibby White is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Dr. Darwin White.

Zibby White is survived by her daughters, Debra White McCormick (Grady) and Lisa White Hogan (Ross); son, Mark Norris White (Missy); her grandchildren, Ryan McCormick, Chelsea Shaughnessy (Dan), Courtney Martin (Josh), Travis Hogan (Jessica), Noel Hogan (C. J.), Emily Buchanan (Chip) and 12 precious great grandchildren with two on the way.

Zibby White loved her family, friends and her church. She was the librarian for many years at Model High School. She was the librarian of the year for the state of Georgia in the early 80s. She earned her PHD. in Library Science.

Zibby loved to read and instilled that love in her children. She was a world traveler and went many wonderful places with her children. She took all of her grandchildren to Europe when they were 13. We will miss her. We love her.

Plans for an inurnment committal service at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Rome, Ga will be planned for spring of 2024.
