Mr. Naiser was born in Taiton, Whorton Co., Texas, on April 10, 1931, the son of the late Joseph Frank Naiser and Viola Christine Vaclavik Naiser. He was a graduate of the University of Texas in 1954 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., for 40 years in Akron, OH and Rockmart and retired as vice-president of engineering. He served in the U. S. Army, and was an avid bridge player and golfer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he was sang in the choir for over 30 years, played in the Adult Handbell Choir and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Ewing Naiser, to whom he was married May 12, 1956; two sons, Robert Naiser (Cheri), Whitesburg, GA, and David Naiser (Melissa), Cartersville; two daughters, Becky Self (Lydell), Rome, and Valerie Goehring (Pat), Leesburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Cheryl, Eric and Brandon Self, Cindy Schultz, Amber and Ashley Naiser and Davie Godwin; and two brothers, Joe E. Naiser (Georgia), Yoakum, TX, and Donald Naiser (Barbara), El Campo, TX.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 4, 2013, at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rome, with Father Patrick Kingery and Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. A Rosary will be said at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the church.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home, 901 E. Second Ave., Rome, GA 30161.
