On Tuesday morning of September 9, 2025, Harry Franklin Bailey, Jr was only 64 when he unexpectedly journeyed to his Heavenly home when succumbing to medical complications at the hospital during a brief sickness.
Frankie, as he was affectionately known, was a long-time resident of Silver Creek and a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by the sincere love of his family and friends. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more in his community whose lives received profound pleasures through his charismatic smile and laughter.
His precious life began surrounded by his loving and supporting parents, a Bailey Rascals sports team with six other competitive siblings, and a multitude of incredibly interactive grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His legacy embodies a bold and adventurous journey embracing military service, traveling upon God's amazing landscapes as a truck driver or working flea markets to provide a nurturing and loving life for his own family of 5 children and eventually retiring as a simple man riding his farm tractor.
Frankie is pre-deceased by both his loving parents, Harry Franklin Bailey, Sr and Shirley Jean (Edwards) Bailey. He is survived by three of his sons and one of his daughters: Harry Franklin Bailey, III and wife Felicia, Joshua DeWayne Bailey and wife Tosha, Lottye Jean Taylor and husband Joe, Trinity Dean Boyd and wife Susan, and William Shawn Boyd, but sadly predeceased by his daughter, Heather Faye Bailey. His surviving siblings are Auvern Zachary Bailey, Sherrie Jean (Bailey) Duke and husband Jamie, Lisa Ann Bailey, Douglas Eugene Bailey and wife Melissa, and Johnny DeWayne Bailey and wife Lisa, but sadly pre-deceased by brother Michael Lamar Bailey. Frankie also leaves behind a gigantic family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who loved him dearly and shared in his joyful spirit.
Frankie had a rare charismatic gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. May his precious memories serve as a daily reminder of the importance to embrace family and loved ones while serving our Lord and Savior and praying for the healing and spiritual revival of our great Nation.
The family will receive and welcome all friends for a Celebration of Life with Military Tribute service honoring the special life of Harry Franklin Bailey, Jr to be held at the Lock and Dam Park Pavilion (181 Lock and Dam Rd SW, Rome, GA); Saturday, September 27, 2025; 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests all donations be made to the American Legion, Post # 5, P.O.
