Mrs Bishop:

You and your family have been in our prayers.

Jim's great and positive spirit has been missed. I wanted to tell you my favorite story that explained so much about his character.

Approximately 10 years ago Anne and I visited Virginia Tech as a possible school for Eric to attend. I have been on many college campuses due to sports and travel. During our day walking the campus, visiting the student union, and attending a football game, both Anne and I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was. VA Tech was truly the friendliest campus I have ever experienced.

After the visit, I saw Mr Bishop and told him how impressed we were with good ole VPI. He stated the following:

Well, when I attended the school as a cadet you had to greet everyone. You had to not only greet everyone, you had to ask how they were doing too. Even if a dog crossed your path, you had to say, " Hello dog, how are you today?"

That story says so much about Mr. Bishop and his great, friendly character.
