

Mr. Fricks was born July 7, 1930 in Pickens County, GA and was raised in Jasper, Ellijay, and Rome, Ga.
Mr. Fricks is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Jean (Broome) Fricks and their three sons; Tim (Beverly) Fricks of Flowery Branch, Ga.; Brad (Amy) of Marietta, Ga.; and Phil (Amanda) Fricks of Rome, Ga. He has five grandchildren: Jake, Ben, Mary Anna, Katie, and Samuel Fricks; step grandchildren Kerrie (Kevin) Martin, and Kyle Matthews; step great grandchildren Connor and Huckleberry.
He is also survived by one sister, Kay (John) Herndon of Cedartown, GA and three brothers: Billy (Reba) Fricks, Cleveland, Ga.; Fred Fricks, Tampa, Florida;
Jack Fricks of Hudson, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Mr.. Fricks graduated from McHenry High School and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Germany during the 1950’s.
Mr. Fricks was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, a member of the choir and other positions over the years.
He retired from Southern Auto Supply Co. after forty years of service and went on to work at Powell’s Auto Parts in his retirement.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held Saturday, September 3 at 1pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1941 Shorter Avenue, Rome, GA with Dr. Rev. Gregory J. Lund officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor to Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the care- givers at Renaissance Marquis, Kindred, Redmond Park and Floyd Hospitals and Golden Living Nursing Home for their exceptional support.
