James Sweeney

James was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, and faithful friend. Throughout his life, he was known for his unwavering love for his family, his quiet strength, generous heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He believed that the greatest measure of a life was not found in accomplishments, but in the love shared with others.

Above all else, James cherished his family. Whether celebrating life's milestones, sharing stories around the dinner table, or simply enjoying time together, he created memories that will be treasured for generations. His wisdom, encouragement, and steadfast presence were gifts to everyone who knew him.

James is survived by his loving wife, Christina Sweeney; his children, Christina Jackson, Jonathan Davidson, Amanda Davidson, Alyssa Davidson, and Stephanie Guzman; his son-in-law, Branum Jackson, and his son-in-law, Cody Guzman; and his beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Darcy, and Jaxon, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Jon Sweeney and David Sweeney, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends who will forever remember his kindness and love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Sweeney; his parents, James and Marlys Sweeney; and his sisters-in-law, Michelle Sweeney and Kimberly Sweeney.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we choose to celebrate the extraordinary life James lived. His legacy is one of unconditional love, integrity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family. The lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate James's life and honor the remarkable man he was. A Memorial Gathering will be held for friends and family on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4 o'clock in the afternoon until 8 o'clock in the evening at Daniel's Funeral Home.

While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life filled with purpose, love, and countless treasured moments. James's memory will remain a guiding light, reminding us to love deeply, live generously, and always cherish the time we have with those we hold dear.
