

Jean was born on August 31, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa. She was a devoted wife for 62 years, a loving mother to her three children, and a proud, caring grandmother to her six grandchildren.
Jean was a compassionate nurse who dedicated her life to serving others. She graduated from Moline Lutheran Nurses Training in 1963 and began her career as a Registered Nurse in the operating room at Staten Island Hospital in New York. She later worked on the surgical floor at Middlesex Hospital in New Jersey before dedicating 17 years to raising her three children. Afterward, Jean returned to nursing at Georgetown Pediatrics in Dunwoody, Georgia, where she cared for children until her retirement.
Jean’s life was deeply rooted in her love for God and her family. She cherished her grandchildren - Alexa and Jenna Rohrbach; Morgan, Maggie, and Ethan Thoem; and Addison Ledford - and treasured every moment with them. Always quick to share a smile or a word of encouragement, Jean had a gift for making others feel seen and valued. She loved cooking for family gatherings, decorating for holidays and celebrations, and sharing time with others. She will always be remembered by her beautiful, genuine, and kind soul whose gentle spirit touched everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Annabelle Osburn, her brother, Jack Osburn, and her granddaughter Alexa Rohrbach.
Jean is survived by her loyal husband, Robert “Bob” Thoem; her children, Robin Jean Rohrbach (Chris), Wendy Ann Ledford (Ben), and Kevin Robert Thoem (Jenifer);and her beloved grandchildren.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Monday October 13th, 2025, at 11:00am in the Chapel at Roswell United Methodist Church. Friends and family are invited to a reception afterwards to share memories, laughter, and stories as they honor her remarkable life.
