

Mrs. Holt was born in Knoxville, TN, on August 31, 1916, daughter of the late Elwood A. Lloyd and Myrtle Izela Daly Lloyd. She graduated from Knoxville High School. Jeanne married her husband of 68 years on November 25, 1937 and moved to Rome in 1945. Mrs. Holt was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 68 years. She served as the 6th grade Sunday school teacher, was the chairwoman of the Intercessory Prayer group, prayer warrior and sang bass in the choir. Mrs. Holt actively participated with W. M. U.; Rah-Rah’s and volunteered with Floyd Medical Center. Jeanne loved her family and had a way of making anyone who was in her presence feel cared for and loved. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Clifford Holt in 2005; and a sister, Dorothy Lloyd Wade; a brother, Col. Elwood Alon Lloyd, United States Army Ret.
Mrs. Holt leaves a loving legacy of survivors which include a daughter, Judi Holt Wade; two sons, Michael & Jeanine Holt, Thomas & Robin Holt; special daughter, Joyce Parry of St. Simons, GA; 9 grandchildren, Andrew Wade, Phillip & Keli Wade, Danny & Beth Wade, Nathan Holt, Joy & Adam Scowdon, Jordan Holt, Ivy Holt, Nikia & Freddy Amerson, Bob & Lilliana Weaver; 13 Great-grandchildren, Brian & Katie Wade, Bobby & Maridith Lane, Mallory, Barrick, Michah, Braxton, Miles Wade, Callie Scowdon, Charity Holt and Renae Holt, Christian & David Weaver, Celena Amerson; 4 Great-great-grandchildren, Anniston Wade and Shepard Lane; Roman Wade and Roscoe Lane.
A funeral service was held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church Sanctuary at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Phil Wade, Rev. Danny Wade, Dr. David Campbell and Rev. Harvey Palmer officiating. Interment followed in the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Barrick Wade, Jordan Holt, Brian Wade, Brent Hard, Nathan Holt and Adam Scowden. The honorary pallbearers will be Andy Wade, Sam Evans, Joe Tarpley and Freddy Amerson.
The family received friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Martha King Annex of the Trinity U.M.C.
