John was a valuable and trustworthy member of Dickey Seed International for some thirty years. Starting out as a part-time helper right after graduating from Model High, and continuing through his college years, he then came to work full time upon graduating from Southern Technical Institute. John soon rose to the position of plant manager of the Company's Pinson Road facility.

While working at Dickey Seed he earned another degree in Business Management from Shorter College. John was also a licensed commercial electrician and a licensed Federal firearms merchant. Even with all these varied interests, John never ever let the seed plant, that he had helped build, get behind with its work. Each Fall when the Company's 23,000 acres were harvested, John had that seed plant in tip top shape... ready to process all those seed, and have them ready for the upcoming spring planting season. In its heyday, Dickey Seed Intl. was the largest provider of Certified Seed east of the Mississippi. And, much of the credit for this achievement goes to John Wiggins.

Very simply... John got things done; always finished the job on time and got it done in the right way. Many of us are better off because John Fincher Wiggins, Jr. came our way.
