A native of Rome, Joseph, was born on September 29, 1967, son of the late Robert Eugene Brooks, Sr. and surviving mother, Emily Mae Babb Brooks. He was a lifelong resident of Floyd County and was graduated from Coosa High School in 1985. Mr. Brooks was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force and National Guard. In addition to his father, who passed in 2013, he was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin brother, Richard Daniel Brooks in 1969, and Jerry Lee Brooks in 1996.
In addition to his mother, Joseph is survived by three brothers, Robert Eugene Brooks, Jr. and his wife, Kris, Timothy Wayne Brooks, and Stephen Ray Brooks.
The family will have a private gathering this week and a memorial service will be set at a later date in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
