Joseph Seigler

a resident of Renaissance Marquis,

Rome, Ga., passed away Thursday

morning. May 7, 2015.

Mr. Seigler was born in Augusta,

Georgia on July 16,1920. He was preceded

in death by his wife of 67 years, Edna

Wortham Seigler. He attended Augusta

College, where he played basketball, prior

to serving in the Coast Guard during WWII.

Returning to Augusta, he owned and

operated General Insurance Agency of

Augusta. He was a member of First Baptist

Church of Augusta where he taught Sunday

School for many years. In 2005 he became

a resident of Rome, Ga.

Mr. Seigler is survived by his son,

Joseph Morgan Seigler Jr. and his wife

Catherine, of Rome; two grandchildren,

Mrs. Carolyn Brearley and her husband,

David, also of Rome; and Joseph Morgan

Seigler III and wife Elizabeth of London UK;

five great grandchildren, Bennett, Annabel,

Walker, John, and Owen; nieces. Donna

Scheer and her husband, Henry, of

Augusta, Ga, and Sharon Davis and her

husband Robert, of Jacksonville Fla.

A graveside service was

conducted at Westover Cemetery, Augusta

Ga, on Saturday, May 9th, at 1:00pm.
