Lana Forrester

Lana F. Forrester, 0f 131 Lavender Road, Rome in the Little Texas Valley Community, passed away April 30, 2010 after a battle with cancer.

Lana was born in Batavia , New York daughter of Mary Schavi Fleming and the late Russell E. Fleming. She was a 1969 graduate of Berry College and a long time employee of the Floyd County Board of Education,

serving as counselor at Armuchee Middle School until her retirement in 2009. In 2004, Armuchee Middle School dedicated their yearbook to Lana stating that she is “an open minded, fair, and fun-loving person who always goes out of her way for other people.”She was a loving daughter, treasured mother, and she will be missed.

Surviving Lana is her daughter, Jill Forrester of Buford and mother Mary Fleming of Rome.

The family will receive friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home Monday May 3rd from 5 until 7 PM. No formal service is planned. In lieu of floers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Boulevard, Suite 280 Kennesaw GA 30144.
