

Lee was born on January 21, 1961, in Rome, Georgia to the late Suzanne Edmondson and Jerre James Field. A lifelong resident of Rome, Lee was devoted family man, a faithful Christian and member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
Lee graduated from Coosa High School in 1979 and then went on to graduate from Georgia State University with a degree in Graphic Design.
Lee dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Rome News Tribune. He was also a talented photographer and painter, spending many years pursuing professions in these fields. Later in life, he pursued his passion for writing, creating more than 15 works including fictional novels, screenplays, poems, and short stories. He had a deep passion for storytelling and history which was reflected in his art.
He is survived by his sister, Kim Hall of Kennesaw, Georgia; his sister Jerre Barnes and her husband, Michael Barnes, of Marietta, Georgia; his niece, Katie-Anne Barnes of Marietta, Georgia; his nephew Braden Barnes, and his wife, Emily Barnes, of Marietta, Georgia and his first cousin and closest friend, David Green and his wife Iris Green, of Conyers, Georgia. Several other cousins also survive.
A funeral service will be held on Friday March 27, 2026, at 2:00PM at Garden Lakes Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
Lee will be remembered for his creativity, his storytelling, and his love for his family.
