Ms. Lam was born in Rome on March 13, 1941, the daughter of the late James Herbert Lam and Laurance Salmon Lam. She was a graduate of East Rome High School and the University of Georgia.
Ms. Lam taught school in Forsyth and Floyd Counties for 13 years including nine years at Armuchee High School where she was band director. Prior to retirement she was associated with Walmart since 1976. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir, handbell choir and Senior Adult choir and activities.
She is survived by a number of cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at 3 p.m. at the graveside in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Karl Ergle, Keith Tyler, Bob Williams, Charles Earnest, Neil Sanders, Kenneth Moyers and Ben Hawkins.
