
Mrs. Webster was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on October 2, 1922, daughter of the late Joe and Iva Donovan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rome where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women. Prior to her retirement, she was a longtime employee of the White Rabbit. Mrs. Webster was a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club and was an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Webster was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A.J. Webster, to whom she was married for 65 years; two sons, Arnold James (Jimmy) Webster, Jr., and Dr. Michael D. Webster; and one sister, Mrs. Wilma Reed of Georgetown, KY.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Jackie and Larry Wiggins of Evans, GA; and Jill and Richard Burton of Rome, GA. Other survivors are her grandchildren Michael D. Webster Jr., of Rome, GA; Leslie Webster Snipe, and her husband Andrew of Charlotte, NC; Amanda Jill Griffin and her husband Matthew of Evans, GA; Lauren Maureen Akins and her husband Jeremy of Evans, GA; James Patrick McShane and his wife Elizabeth of Athens, GA; and Richard Harris Burton, Jr., of Rome, GA. Three great-grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service for Mrs. Lorena Webster is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home, Rome, followed by a private interment. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home prior to the service.
