

- Louvinia Kerns Jordan passed way on September 9, 2022. She was born on May 27, 1922 on her mother’s 27th birthday, in Ether, NC to Cornelius Vanderbilt (Neil) Kerns and Laura Needham Kerns. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Jordan one month prior to their 60th wedding anniversary, and her siblings Jewel Kerns Kearns(Dale), Richard Daniel Kerns(Virginia), Virginia Kerns Boyd(Roy), Laura Mae Kerns Thomas(John), Rebecca Kerns Lynch(John), and Christine Kerns Ganiko(Gus).
- She graduated from Star High School, Star, NC and attended Elon College before going to Washington, DC to become a decoder for the United States government during WWII. After her marriage she followed her husband’s career and lived in North Carolina, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Louisiana, and finally Georgia. She was an avid gardener and talented seamstress, and most importantly loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. During her time as a homemaker, she enjoyed being a Garden Club member at he time of Lady Bird Johnson’s campaign, Circle member at many Methodist Churches, Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Grade Mother, School Infirmary volunteer, and made many contributions to her communities. In most recent years she enjoyed celebrating the brave women of WWII as a member of the Rosie the Riveters.
- She is survived by her sister, Betsy Neal Reavis, Asheboro, NC, her children, Lillian Jordan Terrell, Orange, VA, Neil Randolph Jordan(Anne) Thibodaux, LA, Laura Jordan Bellis(Tracey), Herndon, VA, Virginia (Jinks) Jordan Latham(Dan) Rome. Grandchildren Michael Terrell, Orange, VA, Katie Terrell, White Rock, NM, Renee Jordan, New Orleans, LA, Paul Jordan(Jenny) Lafayette, LA, Julia Bellis Signor(Andre) Vittorio Veneto, Italy, Caroline Bellis Cook(Paul) Richmond, VA, Laura Elizabeth Latham(Matt Mason) Brunswick, GA, John Latham, Lynn, MA. Great grandchildren Leonardo, Teodoro, and Francisco Signor, James Randolph and Lucy Jordan, Henry Cook, Molly Mason and many nieces and nephews.
- Family and friends recently enjoyed celebrating and honoring her life and memories with her on her 100th Birthday. Per her wishes she will be cremated and the family will have a private gravesite service at a later date.
- The family would like to thank Magnolia Place at the Spires at Berry College for their loving care and support to her and her family as well as Heyman Hospice.
