

Lydia Jane Holstun Barwick passed away on Dec. 16, 2023 at Emory University Hospital at the age of 77 from a heart attack after a routine procedure on Dec. 13th. Jane was a loving mother to two children, Maria Riewald King and Dean Riewald (Aki). She also loved her late husband, Larry E. Barwick’s two boys, and their wives, Russell Barwick (Loretta) and Jeff Barwick (Susan). She adored her many grandchildren: John R. King (Samantha), Lauren King Lambert (Robert), Paulina Riewald, Kumi Riewald, Luke Riewald, Yumi Riewald, Jeffrey Barwick, Callie Barwick Smith (Jon), Russell Barwick, Jr., Laura Barwick Cowart (Rob), and Lacey Barwick Mazur (Ryan). She was additionally blessed with six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Holstun, her brothers, John and Lane Holstun, as well as her husband Larry, and son Dean. Jane was a cosmetologist for many years, then went back to college and received a degree in education. She only taught a few months, before deciding to go to work for the Kroger company, from which she retired after many years. She loved her many friends with the Lavender Mountain Quilt Guild and her many pets. She rescued countless animals during her life and had three indoor cats and five outdoor cats she was taking care of when she passed. She had been feeding the ducks at two of the lakes in Garden Lakes for the past 15 years, as well as the many birds in her backyard.
