She was born in Rome on June 19,1942, the daughter of the late Anne King Jackson and the late Robert Marshall Jackson. She was predeceased in death by by her husband James Sproull Dempsey, Jr. and her second husband Charles Carpenter Shaw. She is survived by a brother, Robert Marshall Jackson, Jr. of Dublin, Georgia and three children, Anne Dempsey Mcconnell, Jane Sproull Dempsey and Charles Carpenter Shaw, Jr. (Chuck). Mrs. Shaw had three grandchildren.
She was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
A burial service for family and friends was held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Reverend David Boyd officiating.
