Mary Walden Warren

Mary Walden Warren, wife of Harry C. Warren, passed away on December 11, 2012. Mrs. Warren, born June 22, 1920, and was married to the late Mr. Warren for over 65 years. She received her college degree from Georgia Women’s College, and she taught elementary school for many years at Fourth Ward Elementary School and at Garden Lakes Elementary School and had previously been an active member of the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher’s sorority. She was a faithful member of 5th Ave. Baptist Church for 70 years.

Mary is survived by 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, 5 grandsons, 3 great-grandsons, and 6 great-granddaughters. Survivors include her son, Chris Warren and his wife, Glenda Warren, Chattanooga, Tennessee. They have three sons, including Rev. Matthew Warren and his wife Katie, Greenbrier, Tennessee (Christian, Rebecca, & Julianna); Mitchell and his wife Crissy, Chattanooga (Blakesly, Mitch Jr., & Mary Harper); Brett Warren and his wife Michelle, also of Chattanooga (Lydian, Madeline, & Keaton).

Steve Warren is the younger son of Mrs. Warren. Steve and his wife, Geri Z. Warren, live in Greenville, South Carolina. They have two sons, John Warren and his wife, Courtney, of Greenville, and David Warren, also of Greenville.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care provided to “Ms. Mary” by the staffs of NHC Parkwood and Hospice of Chattanooga. We will forever be grateful for your ministry to her.

The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home of Rome on December 21, 2012 from 1 pm until 2:00 pm, with a celebration service that followed in the Chapel. Rev. Matthew Warren officiated the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, PO Box 19269, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37416.
