Mrs. Ball was born in Cave Spring, on August 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Louis Edward Ellis and Frances Inez Green Ellis. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindale. Mrs. Ball was an active member in her church participating in W.M.U., choir, Sybil Kilgo Sunday school class, Triple L. and the Bereavement Committee. She was also active in Eastern Star and the Red Hatters throughout the years. After being a stay at home mom to raise her children she worked for several years as a lunch room staff member in Floyd County School System. Mrs. Ball enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and especially baking her rolls. She was an avid sports fan. Mrs. Ball was a sweet, compassionate lady and a great Christian role model for all those around her, always giving and thinking of others. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten and her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. We take great comfort in knowing we will see her again one day.
Survivors include her three children and spouses, Brent and Diane Durrett of Rome, Phillip and Lynn Ball of Silver Creek, Ted and Gretchen Ball of Smyrna, GA; a sister, Latrell Dillingham of Rome; seven grandchildren, Sarah Durrett Peek (Patrick) of Rome, Emily Durrett of Atlanta, Ben Durrett of Rome, Hannah Ball Darling (Jack) of Guyton, GA, Cameron Ball, Dakota Ball, and Elijah Ball all of Silver Creek; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Peek, and Jacob Darling.
