Rona Freeman Crawford was born on July 4th, 1957 to George C. “Bud” Freeman and Shirley Lloyd Freeman. Rona was one of 5 children, having two older brothers and two younger brothers. She grew up in the Silver Creek community and attended Pepperrell School. While attending Pepperrell she participated in basketball and cheerleading, and she excelled academically graduating with honors in 1974. In 1982 she moved to Texas where she would meet and eventually marry Mike Peschel. Shortly after getting married she was blessed with the birth of her daughter Abi. A few years later she was blessed again with the birth of her daughter Ashley. After moving back to Georgia, and several years later, she got remarried to Alan Crawford, and together they raised Abi and Ashley while primarily living in the Silver Creek community. Rona worked over 20+ years as the production manager for Alexandria International in Calhoun, GA. On January 26th Rona made the decision to put her trust and faith in the Lord through her decision to accept Jesus Christ as her savior and she was baptized by her brother Stacey at Graceland Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA.
Rona will best be remembered as a person with a big personality, who was funny and witty, smart and clever, a down to earth and genuine person, a caring and loving person, and most of all she will be remembered as a mother and grandmother who loved her daughters and grandchildren more than anything else.
Rona was preceded in death by her parents, George C. “Bud” Freeman and Shirley Freeman. Rona is survived by her brothers and their spouses; Dane (Ellen) Freeman, Drew (Yvette) Freeman, Scott (Robin) Freeman, and Stacey (Renati) Freeman, her daughters and their spouses, Abi (Jim) Childs, Ashley (Bobby) Niskern, and by her grandchildren Greylon, Erist, and Ellie, and step-grandchildren Ballard and Bowen.
