
Berry was born on August 7, 1951, in Selma, Alabama, the son of the late Shorter Berry Pullen Jr. and Bonnie Clyde Pullen. Following the passing of his parents, he took over management of the family owned H & R Block franchise which he ran for many years before starting his own private tax practice. Throughout his personal and professional life, Berry always strived to make a difference in the lives of those around him and always put the needs of others first. In his spare time he enjoyed making crossword puzzles, writing holiday themed plays, and crafting "homemade" jokes to entertain his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife Martha McCall Pullen; his son Brent, his wife Jennifer and their two children - Clover and Evelyn; and his niece (Kristina Boswell) and nephew (Dudley Morris).ln addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Jo Morris.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bill Pardue officiating. Interment will be private at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge.
