

Steve was born in Lansing, MI on August 30, 1941. He grew up in Hartland, MI where he lived until he proudly joined the Air force. After leaving the Air force in 1965, he started working for IBM retiring after 35 years. While working at IBM, he obtained his Master's Degree in Mathematics from University of Alabama along with multiple other degrees from various colleges. Stephen and his wife Gloria were avid members of the Peach State Travelers Motor Home Association where they enjoyed traveling the world together.
Stephen is preceded in death by his father Ivar Hultberg, mother Eunice Epley, step-father Donald Epley, and great grandson Dawson Southern.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Hultberg, daughter Melissa (Angela) Jeffcoat-Hultberg their son Corey, two granddaughters Hayley (Kyle) Southern and Markie Hultberg, three great granddaughters Layla, Alanah, and Lorelei Southern, his sister Elizabeth Welton and brother Frank (Sherry) Hultberg. Also numerous nieces and nephews, one great-great nephew, who lives in the home with Gloria, Melissa and Angie.
The family received friends Monday, August 21, 2017 at Daniel's Funeral Home from 9:00am until 11:00 am. The interment service followed at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton GA, with chaplain Terry Combs officiating.
The Honor Guard from the American Legion Shanklin-Attaway Post No. 5 conferred the military rites along with the United States Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association of Georgia 41 Perimeter Center E #550, Atlanta, GA 30346 or live plants for the family to cherish.
Daniel's Funeral Home has charge of the agreements.
