Sylvia Ellis Brierley

Sylvia was born in Trion, Georgia on December 31, 1938, to Harry A. Ellis, Sr and Marie Minnix Ellis. She graduated from Rome High School in 1956 and went on to graduate from Shorter College. Sylvia retired from Model Elementary School after a teaching career of 29 years. Sylvia was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she worked in the church nursery for 23 years. She loved gardening, reading, animals, and her grandchildren.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter Linda Andrews (Bob), stepdaughters Jenny Burch (Guy) and Andrea Delsanto, granddaughter Emma Andrews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harry A. Ellis Jr, her husband Norman Brierley, and grandson Cole Andrews.

Sylvia’s family would like to thank all the caregivers and staff at The Spires who took such good care of her for almost three years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2pm in the chapel at Daniel’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Daniel’s Funeral Home from 1pm until the service time.
