Virginia Sue Wahle, 77, of Woodstock, Georgia died at her home February 17, 2021. Sue was born June 20, 1943 in Rome, Georgia to the late Joseph L. and Charlotte A. Collins. She attended Shorter College, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Kent State University where she studied art history. Sue moved from Alliance, Ohio back to Georgia in Spring of 1995, where she resided in Woodstock until her death.
Having taught art at the Heritage Preparatory School and Cherokee Christian School, Sue retired in 2017. She was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Sue was an avid reader, lover of the arts, and enjoyed painting and travelling. She always enjoyed spending time with close friends and family over good food, laughter, and conversation. She particularly enjoyed time with her grandchildren Claire and Collins.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Barry H.) Dunnavant of Atlanta, Georgia; sons, Joseph F. Wahle of Aurora, Ohio, and James D. Wahle (Lisa) of Dallas, Georgia and her grandchildren Claire and Collins Wahle.
Friends and family will be received at Daniels Funeral Home, 901 East 2nd Avenue Rome, Georgia from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021. An 11:00 AM graveside service will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, also in Rome, with Robert Lester presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friends of Paulding Pregnancy Services, www.ppsfriends.org .
