

Mr. Day was born in Trion, Georgia on September 13, 1939. He was the son of the late Thomas Day and Ruby Head Day. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ann Smith Hughes Day on April 7, 2020, a brother, Gene Day of Trion and a granddaughter Lizbeth Casteñeda, Rome.
Survivors include a son, William "Rusty" Kenneth Day, Jr., and his wife Nora, of Rome, grandson, Norberto Castenada and his wife Diana, granddaughters Stephanie Castenada and Lexi Day and great grandchildren Ariana Castenada, Benjamin Castenada, and Orlando Castenada all of Rome. Niece, Mitzi Tomlin and her husband Ralph of Trion and nephews Mike Day and Steve Day of Spartanburg, S.C.
Mr. Day graduated from Trion High School in 1957. He attended the University of Chattanooga, graduated from Jacksonville State University and Western Carolina University. Mr. Day was a teacher and coach for 30 years. He taught and coached at Cherokee High School, Breman High School, Armuchee High School, Coosa High School, Trion High School, and Marietta High School. He was a faithful member of Second Avenue Baptist Church and a Deacon. His family will hold a banquet in his and his wife's honor at a later Date.
