Est décédé à Sainte-Adèle le dimanche 8 mars 2020, à l’âge de 62 ans, d'une crise cardiaque, Jean Daoust.
Il laisse dans le deuil ses parents, Pierrette Giguère (André Godet), Robert Daoust (Madeleine Paquette), son fils Denis, son petit-fils Grayson Oliver, sa fille Nathalie, ses sœurs Nathalie (Alain St-Hilaire), Louise (Dominique Albert), son amie Andrée Robitaille, et tous ses chers cousins & cousines. Ses chiens adorés Fabio & Barbie, ainsi que tous ses ami(e)s, dans l’état de New York, et au Québec.
Homme d’action, Jean tout jeune se passionnait pour les pompiers, ambulances, et nous courrions, pédalions au feu ensemble, et toute la gang d’enfants de la rue! Ces moments laissèrent une empreinte indélébile dans le cœur de Jean…
Ses Héros : les paramédics & les pompiers !!!
Un héros au Québec, son Jean Lessard, son mentor, son ami, son ange gardien, ainsi que sa femme Josée. Grâce à eux, Fabio & Barbie sont en sécurité. Merci à vous deux.
Ses héros américains, Charles Brenon III, Glen Gagnier, ses frères de coeur, qui ont été là pour lui, en tout temps.
Pour Jean, c’était SES pompiers, ces hommes qui risquent leurs vies pour en sauver d’autres. Ces premiers intervenants qui nous sécurise, console, réconforte, rassure, et ceux qui nous regarde droit dans les yeux, et par où, tous les messages passent. C’est aussi les pompiers et pompières que Jean a été rejoindre et aider à Ground Zéro en 2001.

Compris, l’ont accepté, avec toute sa passion. Ils ont été particulièrement là pour Jean.
Ses photographies de pompiers, les regards, les mains, les têtes penchées, toutes expriment la passion du métier, qu’il ne pouvait plus exercer, en raison de ses blessures au dos…
Tous les détails de son admiration pour vous, tout son amour et respect du métier, il saluait chacun de vous…

Toute sa famille vous remercie infiniment.
Son amour de la nature a toujours été une priorité dans la vie de Jean, les grands espaces, des arbres, des cours d’eau, des feux de bois. Pour ceux qui ont eux le plaisir de voir Jean dans son élément, à sa cache, son Paradis bien à lui, c’est là qu’il était le plus heureux, chez lui, dans le bois, avec ses chiens et ceux qu’ils chérissaient. D’ailleurs, son fils Denis s’en venait cet été, partagé ces moments de plaisir et de repos avec son père.
Humaniste, travailleur de rue à Bogota avec Jeunesse Canada Monde, cette expérience fut pour Jean un moment d’apprentissage intense, de courage, de danger, que l’on peut mal évaluer du Québec. Jean a mis sa vie en danger plusieurs fois, cette expérience l’aura marqué à vie.
Jean s’était mis comme mission de sauver le monde,
Jean à sa façon a aimé, sauvé, aidé…
