It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic death of Kylie Dawn Waite at Red Deer Alberta on August 25, 2010. Kylie was born July 10, 1989 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Sask. Her youthful days were spent running and playing on the streets in the town of Sovereign, Sask. In 1997 the family moved in to Rosetown, Sask. where she grew and flourished and completed grade 12 in 2007. In the fall of 2007 Kylie moved to Olds Alberta where she completed the Land Agent Program, then moved on to Red Deer. She is survived by so many special people, her Dad and Mom, Laurie and Donna, two brothers, Mitchell and Landan, and sister Karla; her grandparents Keith and Fay Waite, Uncle Dale and Auntie Heather Maxemniuk and their two boys Jamie and Jesse; Grandma Marg Lefaivre and her children Auntie Wendy Foursha (Roxan and David), Uncle Bill and Auntie Lori (Megan, Braydon and Blayke), Uncle Mike Lefaivre, Uncle Ron and Auntie Deb (Brodie, Kallecia, and Owen), Auntie Keri and her childhood nanny Maria Alily Concepcion and her daughter Andrea. Kylie was predeceased by her Grandpa Jack Lefaivre (2006), niece Jacey Lee Welsh (2005), and baby boy Maxemniuk (1979). Kylie blessed the lives of all those she knew, especially her family, close friends and teammates. You never knew what to expect, as her playful pranks and amazing sense of humor always surprised and delighted us. Above all, she was a loyal and trustworthy friend, and dearly treasured those values in others. A true “Green” Rider’s fan, Kylie’s enthusiasm for the team was flaunted by her wardrobe - including her most favorite recent addition of a Rider’s bikini, which she enjoyed parading at the numerous lakes she visited – spreading Rider fever beyond the borders of Saskatchewan. Kylie’s greatest passion was sports and due to hard work and dedication, she excelled on the field, the court and at center ice. To join her collection of plaques, trophies and medals, Kylie was awarded the distinction of Female Athlete of the year at Olds College in 2008. However, she remained humble of her abilities. Whether volleyball, fastball or hockey, when Kylie played her worries disappeared and her spirit soared, naturally carrying the team with her. She enjoyed teasing her siblings about her blistering slap shot, as of course, hers was always the hardest. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday August 30th at 1:30 pm. at the Rosetown Civic Center with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating, followed by the interment at the Sovereign Cemetery. Donations in Kylie’s memory can be made the Rosetown Minor Athletic Association, (RMAA). Clements Rosetown Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
