

Dianne M. Penney, age 79, died peacefully at home in Granite Bay surrounded by loving family members after a valiant battle against cancer. Dianne died the night of Monday September 27th and was preceded in death by her devoted husband Richard Penney in 2005.
Dianne was sweet, strong and feisty right until the end. She loved family vacations and was always looking forward to the next family gathering, planning activities and costumes for annual family pictures. Frequent trips to Disneyland and Disney World with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were eagerly anticipated and enthusiastically planned for.
Dianne loved taking pictures of her family and left behind decades of photo albums filled with wonderful memories of family events, holidays and vacations. Dianne dearly loved her little poodle Scooter who provided love and comfort right to the end.
Dianne was the daughter of George and Ethel Murphy, born August 13, 1931 in Los Angeles. She spent her early years in the Boston area until her family relocated to Roseville. She attended Roseville City Schools and graduated from Roseville High. She is survived by her daughter Glinda Penney, son Keith Penney and his wife Monica, daughter Laurene Davis and her husband David. She is also survived by granddaughters Jennifer DeDora, with husband Paul and Amy Duran with husband Brian, and her grandsons Ian, Sean and Kurt Penney. Dianne was a loving great grandmother of Jason, Alora, Travis, Lucas, Benjamin and Owen.
A celebration will be held at the family home immediately following the burial.
