Born on January 12, 1936 in Albany, California,
his parents were John and Linnea Capellino. He was the 2nd of 3 children.
He graduated from Berkeley High School in 1954.
After graduation, he began a career as an employee of the Comptroller’s
Department of Pacific Gas & Electric Company in San Francisco serving for
33 years. After retirement in 1987, Don became a founding member of the
Berkeley Senior Yellow Jackets organization serving as secretary for 23
years.
In more recent years, he’s lived in Vallejo, Fairfield and Sun City, Roseville.
He and his wife, Gerry, were married 40 years. Don was a loving, devoted
husband, patriotic American and a loyal friend. He was a dedicated and
faithful fan of the San Francisco 49ers football and Oakland A’s
baseball teams. He was a proud veteran serving in the U. S. Army from
1958 to 1960 in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Gerry; his sons David
(Xiomara) and Daniel and daughter, Gina, and several grandchildren as well as
cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-and sister-in-laws. In lieu of flowers,
donations to Don’s favorite charities are appreciated: DAV (Disabled
American Vets) or any veterans organization.
